DESTINATION 2008: ZAMBIA, AFRICA 

Pictured below is a photo collage of Zambians who truly exemplify the sisterhood of servants (SOS) concept. Though the culture they live in might seem primitive and third world according to United States standards, these are some of the most incredible women I have ever met in my life. It was my great privilege to be able to spend some time with them. The struggles they face in life – substandard living conditions, inadequate medical care and unemployment - have not hindered the spirit of unity they share with their fellow sisters. The images in these photographs depict a community of women who had come together during the God’s Christian Missionary Service 20th anniversary bible conference. These women cooked, fellowshipped, and took care of each other’s children during the 10 day conference. We in the USA can really learn from their spirit of togetherness and eagerness to “look out for each other” despite adverse circumstances. These are just a few of their faces:
